CPEC will be completed at any cost, says COAS Sharif

General Raheel Sharif, addressing the 88th anniversary of Chinese Peoples Liberation Army (CPLA), said that Pak-China friendship is deeper than the oceans and sweeter than honey.

He added that the CPEC will be completed at all costs and any attempt to obstruct the project will be thwarted.

COAS Sharif has also stated that enmity with China will be considered enmity with Pakistan.

Aziz emphasizes to strengthen Pak-US trade relations

Talking to U.S. Special Representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan Daniel Feldman in Islamabad, Sartaj Aziz told him about comprehensive measures taken by Pakistan to counter terrorism.

He also briefed the US Special Representative about the ongoing Afghan reconciliation talks and the current status of relations with India following the recent meeting of the Prime Minister with his Indian counterpart on the sidelines of Ufa Summit.

Ambassador Daniel Feldman noted that Pakistan-US relations were on an upward trajectory. He appreciated Pakistan’s positive role in facilitating the Afghan reconciliation talks. Ambassador Feldman welcomed Pakistan’s strong condemnation of the recent terrorist incident in Gurdaspur, India and hoped that relations between Pakistan and India would improve.

Ambassador Richard Olson was also present on the occasion.
